Typical profiles of sustainability teams are of highly qualified individuals with expertise in environmental science or non-financial reporting. They are rich in their knowledge and understanding in sustainability frameworks, yet face tremendous barriers in integrating them into the organization. As a result, sustainability management becomes distributed tasks, and sustainability managers are merely chasing after colleagues for updates.
We believe that finding the balance between strategic planning and stakeholder engagement is the solution to helping sustainability teams perform.
We are here to help sustainability managers create the impact that is true to their job description and lead their organization’s sustainability agenda.
The ImpactWorks Academy is a collaborated venture between two sustainability consultancy firms – Baba Yaga Consultancy from Hong Kong and Tracemaker from Germany. Both companies focus on supporting companies in their sustainable transition journeys, with very different specialties.
Precisely because of the vast differences between the two firms, Amber and Melanie found that no single approach could work alone. Whilst their clients had their individual pain points and objectives, it was not uncommon to see that sustainability teams in organizations are often working alone and in silos.
Baba Yaga Consultancy specialises in leveraging on daily operational data, turning them into sustainability metrics to inform companies in their sustainability efforts and progress. They help SMEs in Europe and Asia work on sustainability reporting, and achieving business certifications such as B Corp.
Tracemaker specialises in facilitating stakeholder engagement within and outside of organizations to create meaningful dialogues that are necessary for sustainable transition. They help companies and organizations to build engagement strategies that translate into action.
The Toy Association Germany invited Melanie Peschel to give a presentation on internal sustainability communication. The webinar was a real benefit for our members.
